Haiti tax relief bill passes Minn. House

A tax break meant to spur donations to Haitian earthquake relief has received unanimous approval from the Minnesota House.
It should reach Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s desk sometime this week. The Senate needs to take one more vote to line up two slightly different versions.

Law students offer free tax assistance

Student volunteers are offering free tax preparation.
More than 60 collegians at Rutgers University in Camden are participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Sponsored by the Rutgers School of Law in Camden, the program offers help from students trained in preparing federal and New Jersey State tax returns.
